About Us
The name Aabharnam, is something of an ode to multiple generations of Neha's family.
The founder of the NGO, Aabharnam Foundation hail from the bustling lanes of Old Delhi, known for its chaotic mix of vibrant culture, culinary delights, and rich heritage. Growing up, they spent their days surrounded by textiles and craft in its many forms; their grandfather was a potter who worked magic with clay, throwing it into beautiful forms. He also skillfully tailored (now iconic) garments for Lal Bahadur Shastri, and their father continued the tradition perfecting the craft to lofty standards. This familial legacy of artistry and craftsmanship was a clarion call for Neha, to a life steeped in Indian arts and crafts.
Aabharnam Foundation is a tribute to the family's legacy, a movement to revive and preserve the artistry of Indian craftsmanship across disciplines, and a platform to champion the artisans of these rich, incredibly intricate crafts.
Abharnam Foundation: a movement where craft, tradition, and innovation converge.
Neha, through the years, has worked with 400+ artisans, engaging them and their families to craft heirlooms that would otherwise be lost in the annals of time. A majority of the proceeds at Abharnam Foundation go to artisans across the country, for whom their craft is their livelihood.
With a passion for storytelling, Neha envisions Aabharnam Foundation as a canvas for workshops, craft collaborations, art exhibitions, and a centre for experiential tourism where artisans and craft enthusiasts can connect. From handwoven textiles and sculptures to bespoke furniture and murals,
Aabharnam Foundation will integrate the finest Indian craftsmanship on one celebratory platform. For those who cherish quiet luxury, cultural connection, and the timeless beauty of handcrafted heirlooms,
